Thanks for supporting Dreadnoughts Unlimited since 2001!
Dreadnoughts Unlimited is a non-profit entity that has been established to
provide scholarships to needy and eager musicians who will benefit from a week at
Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamp. We have awarded scholarships since 2001.
The scholarships are funded mainly by individual donations, and drawings are held at kamp for instruments. To donate
to the fund and get into the drawings, click here.
Seth Naugler of Naugler Guitars in Buck's County, PA has built guitars for Dreadnoughts Unlimited since 2008 that we have given away during week 2 of SKAK.
Brian Ison of Ison Stringed Instruments in Springfield, MO is building a mandolin for Dreadnoughts Unlimited that will will be giving away during week 2 of 2012. We have also given away guitars from Martin, Proulx, Bourgeois, Gallagher, Recording King, and others through our drawings during Kamp. You can enter the drawing by making a donation to the Dreadnoughts Unlimited Scholarship Fund. For more details, click here.
We conduct drawings during SKAK to give away instruments. A donation to the DU Scholarship fund will get your name in
these drawings. In 2012, we will conduct drawings during week 2 of kamp. You do not have to be present to win.

We award full and partial scholarships each year to Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamp. Five full scholarships were awarded for the 2012 session. Should you desire more information on the scholarships for 2013
or want to apply in the future for a scholarship, here is more information:
This scholarship will pay for tuition to allow a needy aspiring musician to attend the Steve Kaufman Acoustic Kamp in Maryville, TN.
The recipient of the scholarship will be responsible for his or her travel expenses to and from Maryville, Tennessee. Applicants must be 18 or older, or be
accompanied at camp by a responsible adult. (Note: Accompanying adult can be a camp companion if not registered as a camper -
see Steve Kaufman's Flatpik Central for details.)
IMPORTANT: Early submission of applications is encouraged. For full consideration, this application and accompanying recommendations must be received before the
announced closing date in the spring of 2013. Applications are not considered complete without at least one recommendation. The scholarships will be awarded
as soon as possible after the closing date so that alternate plans to attend may be made by those applicants who cannot be awarded scholarships.
Recommendations may be submitted along with the
application, or under separate cover. Recommenders may be contacted by the panel with additional questions.
The closing date for receipt of applications for 2013 will be announced in the spring.
