We awarded six scholarships in 2008 to Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamp. Three attended flatpicking guitar kamp, one attended mandolin kamp, and two attended banjo kamp. Here is a short profile for each of them
Seth Naugler of Naugler Guitars in Buck's County, Pennsylvania built the Brazilian Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce dreadnought guitar that we will gave away during week 2 of SKAK last year.
To see examples of Seth's work, go to Naugler Guitars.
To see the specs for the guitar, check out Seth's blog at The 2008 Scholarship guitar. We also gave away a Recording King "Sweethearts of the Rodeo" guitar that was donated to us by John Wynn of Wynn Mandolins during week two of kamp.
We conduct drawings during SKAK to give away instruments. A donation to the DU Scholarship fund will get your name in
these drawings. In 2009, we will conduct drawings during week 2 of kamp. You do not have to be present to win. Dreadnoughts Unlimited is a non-profit entity that has been established to
provide scholarships to needy and eager musicians who will benefit from a week at
Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamp. We have awarded several scholarships over the last seven years.
The scholarships are funded mainly by individual donations. To donate to the fund and get into the drawings, click here.
Thanks for supporting the scholarships since 2001.
